Business Skills Training
We provide basic business skills training with the goal of increasing participants' chances of maximizing the profitability of their businesses. Some of the business skills we teach include product planning, cost calculation, marketing and record keeping.
Savings Program
API employs a Solidarity Group Methodology in its work which connects groups of women who share common objectives. A savings program provides a vital plateform to ensure that the participants work together towards financial self-reliance in the long-run.
Credit Provision
We provide a practical way to generate income and thus reduce poverty through micro-enterprise training and micro-lending to women in urban and rural communities. Credit provision is a key component of the Anti-Poverty Iniative Program. We have found that underprivileged women are eager to work - to start or expand a micro-enterprise in order to provide the basic necessities for their families. Even a small amount of capital accompanied by support and training, will transform the lives of many.
Preventive Health Program(PHP)
In our experience over the years, we’ve come to recognize the direct correlation between poverty and poor health especially in a society with little or no social security. A businesswoman who is often sick cannot effectively work. She loses income, and her already dire situation becomes worse especially when she is the sole provider for her family. Her illness affects her ability to provide food, shelter and education for her children. The program educates underprivileged women on Preventative Health and Practice. They learn about Blood Pressure, Colesterol, Blood Sugar, stress among other issues --- their functions, health implications of their levels and ways to control them. The program requires: 1.Competent health practitioners to teach health classes. 2. Equipment to help the women monitor their health (example. blood pressure,, blood glucose monitors) 3. Transportation to the API groups to conduct health classes "Prevention is better than cure"
100% of API's work is only made possible by the generous donations of people like you.
